David Herscovici won first place of the "Venus de Milo" tournament held April 8 in Coventry with a perfect 3-0 score.

A 3-way tie for 2nd: Nelson Castaneda, Joe Bihlmeyer, and Roger Bessette each finished with 2-1 scores.

We wish to thank Mark Denihan, who volunteered work all day long. Rob Roy was TD.

Several drenching rainstorms in the prior week, together with the spring thaw, caused the basement to get an inch of water.

Luckily, the tournament room was on high ground and thus not affected. The garage got emptied out and became the skittles room. Click for Photos

We usually provide a complimentary lunch, but with all the work to remove 12 wet rugs and cleaning out the garage, we had no time to prepare.

We all chipped in and got pizza from the new "Wicked Slice" in Coventry. The pizza won high approval so we may do this at future events.

Joe Bihlmeyer won with a perfect 3-0 score. Gary Cote from Norwich won 2nd place with 2 wins and a draw. Nine players came to play in the 3 round Swiss.

Rob Roy served as houseman for rounds 2 and 3, winning both games. Thanks to Elizabeth who allowed us into her home and cooked us ziti and meatballs.
