There have been many games in this column showing three pieces obtained in the opening beating the queen, usually the clutter on the board cuts into the queen’s mobility. In this game the position is wide-open and the queen has full scope. The deciding factor is those two connected passed pawns. Alan Lasser's game of the week

There have been many games in this column showing three pieces obtained in the opening beating the queen, usually the clutter on the board cuts into the queen’s mobility. In this game the position is wide-open and the queen has full scope. The deciding factor is those two connected passed pawns.
