57th annual New Britain Summer Open Chess Championship

Currently, we have 44 players pre-registered for this heritage event; the record is 78! Can we break it?! 

 

Arkadijs Strazdins and FM Richard Bauer tie the record for the most wins or ties for first place in this historic tournament (10 each).

Wickham Park has been the host site of this event since 2012 (except for last year, when the park closed due to Tropical Storm Henri, and then we had to reschedule the event to the Armenian Church of the Holy Resurrection (our home) a week later.
