Alan Lasser Game of the Week

Just like the rest of us, grandmasters can try too hard to win.  The king has to go for a march across the board and just when it looks like the opponent has a three-time repetition/perpetual check ready, the GM chooses wriggle out dangerously.  The result is an unusual position on the thirty-seventh move, all of White’s pieces are back on the first rank, and the extra rook isn’t any good at all.
